BG4 – £9.30 per hour. This post is on a casual basis which means no fixed hours. You will be offered minimum 5 hours a week, with the opportunity for more.This role is open to applicants aged between 16-21 as this is a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with para 9, Schedule 1 of the Equality Act 2010.The Safer Options Team are looking for a group of 8 people to become Peer Influencers.
The Safer Options Team is Bristol City Council’s Violence Reduction Unit. The purpose of our work is to reduce the harm that young people experience in the community. This includes sexual and criminal exploitation, county lines, violence, and knife crime.
We are looking to recruit people who have lived experience of Serious Youth Violence, Child Sexual Exploitation and/or Child Criminal Exploitation.
The role of a Peer Influencer is to:
Work in the community to make places safer for young people.
Review the work of the Safer Options Team and organisations we work with.
Develop new projects that matter to you with guidance from your manager.
Seek the views and voices of young people who are affected by exploitation and violence and helping to find possible solutions.
Help to raise awareness by working in the community and/or schools to raise awareness with young people around understanding exploitation, county lines, serious youth violence and knife crime.
