This is an exciting opportunity to gain excellent skills and experience within the Accounting Support Hub of the Accounting, Risk and Insurance Department.
The Accounting Support Hub has been developed to create a hub of multi skilled team members with the aim of training qualified finance professionals for the future. The Accounting Support Hub supports the wider finance function by delivering support work such as journals, preparation of monthly reports, bank reconciliations and monitoring and actioning a number of finance requests received through a central e-mail folder. Training takes place within the team with more experienced members showing newer members the tasks within the team supported by process notes, manager support and career development tasks along with supported study for a relevant financial qualification.
The role: This role will support the Accounting Support Hub whilst learning some of the accounting concepts and preparing for the essential criteria required for an Accounting Support Officer role.
Where this role could lead? The finance department has a range of grades and roles across financial and management accounting and the qualifications offered with this role and higher could lead to a senior finance position as a qualified accountant.Depending upon previous experience and interview discussion, the successful candidate will enrol on an AAT accounting qualification either at level 2, 3 or 4 apprenticeship standard.
