This is an exciting opportunity to gain excellent skills and experience within the Accounting Support Hub of the Accounting, Risk and Insurance Department, while studying for an Assistant Accountant Accountant Apprenticeship Level 3 (AAT). This programme will last 15 months plus 3-6 months for the End Point Assessment.
What the team does:
The Accounting Support Hub has been developed to create a hub of multi skilled team members with the aim of training qualified finance professionals for the future. The Accounting Support Hub supports the wider finance function by delivering support work such as journals, preparation of monthly reports, bank reconciliations and monitoring and actioning a number of finance requests received through a central e-mail folder. Training takes place within the team with more experienced members showing newer members the tasks within the team supported by process notes, manager support and career development tasks along with supported study for a relevant financial qualification.
The role: This role will support the Accounting Support Hub whilst learning some of the accounting concepts and preparing for the essential criteria required for an Accounting Support Officer role.
Where this role could lead? The finance department has a range of grades and roles across financial and management accounting and the qualifications offered with this role and higher could lead to a senior finance position as a qualified accountant.
Applying for an apprenticeship
To apply for an adult apprenticeship you must be aged 16 years or over, at the start of employment with qualifications in English and Maths. If you do not have these, then you must be prepared to study for the Function Skills Level 2 in both subjects alongside your apprenticeship.
