X4 Full Time/Fixed Term for 18 months
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Community Development Team in Bristol City council to build on the positive energy from the community response to COVID-19 where lots of people have been active in their community supporting their neighbours.
As a Community Development Practitioner you will use an Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) framework to engage with our partners and people to maximise the resources around them so they can take action on the things they care about. You will work alongside Bristol’s most marginalised communities and will need to show an inclusive approach to your work, making sure the most marginalised can play an active role in their neighbourhood, in order to do this you will be require to work some evening and weekends.
You will have experience of working alongside local organisations and sharing the values and principles of our work using a range of facilitation tools and techniques. You’ll need experience of working in a neighbourhood setting, an understanding of the principles of Asset Based Community Development and equalities work, able to use creative engagement techniques and ability to work with a diverse range of people and interests. You’ll be joining a dynamic team of community development professionals who are passionate about supporting people to make a difference where they live.
