Part Time/Fixed Term - 12 month
What happens in our city between 6pm and 6am forms a key part of Bristol’s offer to its residents and the tens of thousands of visitors attracted to the city each year. In recognition of this, we’re looking for a talented, driven and well connected person to be an ambassador for Bristol’s night time economy as part of this newly established role, promoting the city on a national and international stage.
Bristol needs a dedicated champion for its world famous music, cultural and hospitality venues; someone who is passionate about supporting the city’s wealth of independent venues and local talent. We are looking for someone to take the lead on shaping how the night time economy fits into Bristol’s story and how we can capitalise on the city’s unique energy.
This role is all about working with stakeholders across the city, as well as nationally and internationally, to influence change and get stuff done. You will work with our One City Boards, recognising how their work cuts across each one: Culture, Economy, Health & Wellbeing, Connectivity, Homes & Communities, Environment and Learning & Skills.
A key responsibility will be to work with the businesses and individuals that make up the night time economy to recover from the challenges associated with Covid and support them to re-open safely. This will include advocating to politicians and leaders on behalf of the sector and will involve working with the full ecosystem of suppliers and contractors who have been affected by restrictions.
Crucially, we’re looking for someone to take a longer view of how Bristol’s night time economy can support the economic, cultural and social success of our city.
