Bristol City Council’s Building Control team is well regarded locally and nationally, and we are looking to strengthen the existing talent we have.
You’ll assist in enforcing the Building Regulations and allied legislation by working to the Building Control Group Manager by managing one of the Building Control teams. You will work alongside our highly respected and experienced existing team managers in delivering all elements of the Building Control function and be directly responsible for a team of surveyors. You will bring a proven track record and knowledge of the Building Regulations across a broad range of sectors including commercial, multi residential developments including high-rise, right through to the domestic sector. You will also be supporting surveyors with onsite assistance and lead on training and development. Reacting to whatever the day throws up whilst focussing on the longer-term objectives for the team ensures that no two days are the same in a fast paced busy environment.

We are currently seeking an experienced Surveyor that will hold a relevant Building Control Professional Qualification and can demonstrate experience in managing a team or operating at a Senior level within their current workplace. You will be able to demonstrate significant wide ranging experience of Building Control projects and the challenges of working in a major city. You will have taken the technical lead in complex projects and can demonstrate self motivation, ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will be given the opportunity to work on a variety of projects enabling you to build on your existing experience, with an expectation to put our customers at the centre of the work we do.
