Part Time 18.5 hours per week (2.5 days)/Fixed Term until 31st March 2021
Are you interested in joining a small but highly effective and dedicated team who are passionate about making a tangible positive difference to Bristol’s future?
The outward facing City Office is responsible for bringing together a wide range of public, private, and third sector partners with the shared aim of making Bristol a fair, healthy and sustainable city as part of the award winning One City Approach. This approach encourages partners from across the city to come together and contribute to the immediate and long term challenges facing Bristol.
The City Office has played a key role in bringing city partners together to respond to COVID-19 and this work continues alongside work on recovery. To support this work we are looking to recruit to three temporary posts to support this work and the ongoing City Office work programme.
A full time Operations and Engagement Adviser
A part time Communications and Events Officer
A part time Business Support Adviser
Communications and Events Officer
You will be playing a key role by delivering City Office communications campaigns, supporting media relations, writing web copy, managing social media, editing newsletters, and building a programme of City Office events. Our small team has not previously had dedicated communications support, so you will need to be keen to work at your own initiative, spotting areas for improvement and proactively building solutions. By improving the way we listen to, engage with, and respond to citizens and stakeholders, you’ll be helping to put inclusion at the heart of the city’s recovery.
This is an exciting opportunity to be working at the heart of Bristol’s collaborative city governance, at what is an exciting time in the journey of the One City Approach and for Bristol.
Why Bristol City Council?
At Bristol City Council, we go that extra mile for our people; we offer a work environment which is fast moving and supportive, giving you the chance to use your skills and develop new ones within a high profile organisation.
Join us and you’ll receive a generous rewards package including flexible working and flexi-time, membership of the Local Government Pension scheme, and a generous annual leave allowance. In addition you’ll be working in a supportive environment where you’ll have the chance to make Bristol a better place and contribute to its future.
How do I apply?
If you share our values and are ready to be part of our exciting journey, apply below.
To be shortlisted for interview you’ll need to demonstrate how you meet each of the essential criteria in the Person Specification within the Further Information section of your application. On occasion we will receive high numbers of applications, we may then shortlist against the desirable criteria along with the essential criteria, so if you can, please demonstrate how you meet these in your application.
