Full Time/ Fixed Term - 24 months
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced communications and marketing manager to support the development of the Western Gateway partnership - an economic ‘powerhouse’ spanning Western England and South Wales.
You will be the communications lead for the partnership working closely with the Chair of the Western Gateway, political leaders, business and universities from across the region.
This post will join the small five-person secretariat of the Western Gateway partnership. This is an agile post, with an expectation of travel (Covid-19 permitting) across the Western Gateway area.
We welcome secondments.
What will I be doing?
You will lead on communications and marketing. You will build the partnership’s digital and media profile and support the growing reputation of the Western Gateway. You will be responsible for media relations, growing the website and social media presence, branding and strategic communications.

What do I need to have?
You will have exceptional communications and interpersonal skills along with extensive experience working in a high profile and busy communications team or press office.
You can demonstrate leading on strategic communications or marketing, excellent relationship management, writing and verbal skills.
You understand how to build and promote a brand. You have experience managing high profile events. You demonstrate tact and diplomacy. You are confident operating at a senior level and can work seamlessly in a complex political environment. You will be tenacious, independent and enjoy working closely with others.

Additional Information
This is a full time role, 37 hours per week and is available as a 24 month secondment or fixed term contract. Your working days will be Monday to Friday.
