A fantastic opportunity has arisen in the Private Housing Services for an Environmental Health Housing Apprentices. This is a 4 year apprenticeship training programme to become a Environmental Health Housing Officer gaining a BSc in Environmental Health (Hons). It is a unique opportunity to earn while you learn and we welcome an enthusiastic, dedicated team members committed to studying towards a degree level. We welcome applications with local community knowledge from within Bristol.As an Environmental Health Housing Apprentice you will work in with colleagues in the Private Housing Service, and other relevant organisations as required to improve Environmental health housing outcomes, to improve standards and conditions in private rented sector in Bristol. Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of Environmental Health Housing initiatives/actionsThe knowledge gained on the course will cover a wide area of Environmental Health, whilst the apprentice “skills” standards will be completed with a focus on Environmental Health Housing. You will learn to apply your professional knowledge and skills in practice.

To carry out this role successfully you will need to have good communication skills with strong interpersonal skills as you will be engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. An understanding of Environmental Health Housing in relation to the Private Housing Sector in Bristol area is a must.
Applying for an apprenticeship
To apply for an adult apprenticeship you must be aged 16 years or over, at the start of employment. You will need to have studied to A’level with evidence in English and Maths GCSE (grade C, or equivalent) or functional skills level 2.
