Full Time/Fixed Term for 3 months
In the Mayor’s Office we are incredibly proud of our team who are busy working behind the scenes to support the Mayor and Cabinet by providing high quality policy, communications and administrative support to deliver the best possible outcomes for Bristol. We put the Mayor’s priorities and core values at the heart of all we do. We are excited to be recruiting for two interns to join us this autumn. We are looking for individuals with a passion for politics and a positive attitude.
No two days are the same in this varied role providing support to the Mayor and Cabinet. You will work closely with our Communications and Engagement Assistant to help the Mayor to engage with residents through his social media platforms, coordinating blog posts and drafting correspondence on behalf of the Mayor. You will also support mayoral events and engagement programmes with businesses, communities and schools across Bristol.
In order to succeed in this role, you will have strong verbal and written skills and confidence with drafting social media content. You should be happy working on your own initiative or as part of a team.
To hit the ground running, you will ideally have a good knowledge of Bristol’s political landscape and an understanding of the Mayor’s priorities.
