We are incredibly proud of our team who are busy working behind the scenes to support the Mayor and Cabinet by providing high quality policy, communications and administrative support to deliver the best possible outcomes for Bristol. We put the Mayor’s priorities and core values at the heart of all we do.
The role is not restricted to you studying at, or recently graduating, university. You will have A-Level (or equivalent) qualifications, or relevant experience of undertaking research and analytical ability at an appropriate level.
In this varied role, you will use strong research skills and knowledge of the Mayor’s aims and priorities, to support the Mayor and Cabinet via our Policy Advisors. You’ll help draft speeches, keep the Mayor up to date with important issues affecting the city, conduct research to inform policy decisions and draft correspondence on behalf of the Mayor.
In order to succeed in this position, you will have strong verbal and written skills, a sharp eye for detail and be discreet, as you will be handling sensitive information. You should be happy working on your own initiative or as part of a team.
To hit the ground running, you will ideally have a good knowledge of Bristol’s political landscape and an understanding of the Mayor’s priorities.
